1. Salvation Through Bathing in Urine

One should bathe in the urine of a cow, maintain himself with milk and move with the cows eating after they had eaten. It is known as govrata. One would become free from the sins in a month. He would attain the world of cows and reach heaven.”  (source)

When a cow evacuates her dung, just as the cow dung leaves her and is far from reaching the ground, one should catch it with one’s hand and this cow-dung burnt with “Sadyojātādi,” i.e., Brahmā Mantra, becomes ashes which are called “Śāntika Bhaṣma,” i.e., ashes producing peace. Before the cowdung is about to reach the ground, the devotee should take it with his hand and uttering the six lettered Mantra, he is to burn the cowdung. The ashes from this are called Pauṣṭik Bhaṣma, i.e., ashes leading to nourishment. If the cowdung be burned with the Mantra “Haum,” the ashes of this are called “Kāmada Bhaṣma,” i.e., ashes leading to the granting of desires. O Nārada! On the full moon day, new moon day or on the eighth lunar day, a man is to get up from his bed early in the morning and be pure and go the cow enclosure. He is to salute the cows and take the cowdung, uttering the Mantra Haum. If he be a Brāhmin, he is to collect the white cow dung; if he be a Kṣattriya, he would take the red cow dung; a Vaiśya, yellow cow dung and if he be a Śūdra, he would take the black cow dung. Then by the mantra “Namaḥ” he is to form that into a ball and cover it with the husk of rice or some other grain and dry it in a sacred place, repeating the mantra “Haum.” Bring fire from a forest or from the house of a Veda-knowing Brāhmin and reduce the cowdung to ashes by this mantra, uttering the mantra Haum.”  (source)

Bathing with ghee is said to be excellent for the lengthening of life. (Bathing) with cow-dung would be (conferring) fortune. (Bathing) with cow’s urine would destroy the sins. (Bathing) with milk would be (giving) strong intellect and with curd, would further fortune. One would be destroying the sins by bathing with kuśa grass and would get all the things by bathing with the five things got from a cow. One would get everything (by bathing) with śatamūla. 2.2 Dung and Urine as Medicine

O Brahmin! The eating of sesamum and drinking cold water and eating cold food are said to strengthen teeth and also give supreme satisfaction. Gargling with sesamum oil would also strengthen teeth. The powdered viḍaṅga (mixed with) goat’s urine is used in destroying all worms. The fruits of dhātrī (a variety of myrobalan) and clarified butter are excellent as an ointment for head for the destruction of all diseases relating to head. The food should consist of oily and hot things. Filling ear with oil or the urine of goat is excellent for the destruction of pain in ear. O Brahmin! 3. Krishna Washed with Cow Dung and Urine

Then different names of the Lord were applied with cow dung on twelve different parts of His body, beginning with the forehead, as done in applying tilaka. When Krsna and Balarama, with the strength of Their legs, crawled in the muddy places created in Vraja by cow dung and cow urine, Their crawling resembled the crawling of serpents, and the sound of Their ankle bells was very charming. Very much pleased by the sound of other people’s ankle bells, They used to follow these people as if going to Their mothers, but when They saw that these were other people, They became afraid and returned to Their real mothers, Yasoda and Rohini. Dressed with muddy earth mixed with cow dung and cow urine, the babies looked very beautiful, and when They went to Their mothers, both Yaśodā and Rohiṇī picked Them up with great affection, embraced Them and allowed Them to suck the milk flowing from their breasts. 4. What is Panchagavya?

The constituents of Pancagavya are as follows: Milk taken from a gold colored cow, the cow dung of a white cow, urine of a copper colored cow, clarified butter of the milk of a blue cow and the curd of the milk of a black cow. Water added should be consecrated by Kusa grass. Eight Masas of cow’s urine, four Masas of dung, twelve Masas of milk, ten Masas of curd and five Masas of ghee form the correct proportion.
